GEDIL® - Long term semen extender

A large production system in the Midwest used semen extended with one very common long term extender (Extender A) on 14
sows units for 10 weeks and GEDIL® semen extender for the following 10 weeks.
Production Data was recorded, and an analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed on farrowing rate, total born, born alive
and overall fertility index.
The following table shows the comparative results for farrowing rate, total born, and fertility index for semen with two
different long term extenders.

Summary
As expected, GEDIL® showed no detrimental effects and overall production results were comparable with other long term semen
extenders. In addition, the trial data showed a statistically significant difference between Extender A and GEDIL® when
the average total born, born alive and fertility index were compared.
