GEDIL® - Long term
Swine semen extender
GEDIL® belongs to a new generation of biological preservative
mediums developed by the Genes Diffusion research department.
GEDIL® contains a new molecule that has a direct effect on the cell. This molecule is a precursor of the PAF i.e Platelet
Activating Factor.
PAF has a direct effect on the mitochondria activity of the sperm cell improving the metabolism and the longevity of the
cell (Kordan and al, 2003).
This molecule increases the natural quality of the cells at different levels :
- Better efficiency of mitochondrial activity improving motility rate by 20 %
- Better physical stability of the cell improving survival rate and longevity.
Furthermore, GEDIL® is formulated with a specific blend of antibiotics. Today, most available commercial extenders present
the same base of antibiotics. The wide anti-bacteriological complex of GEDIL® is not toxic to the sperm cells and controls
by synergy the bacterial flora with more efficacy.
- A better physical stability of apical membranes (acrosom and plasma) ; i.e. no disorganization of the phospholipid
bilayer. The membrane maintains its fluidity and its mosaic structure.
- No loss of the spermatozoa functions.
- Better cell metabolism: increased energetic return of the mitochondria, giving a larger reserve of energy
available and a better motility.
GEDIL® belongs to a new generation of biological preservative mediums developed by the Genes Diffusion research department.
GEDIL® is your best choice to improve the structural and functional integrity of the cells as well as maximizing the energetic
return of the cell ( = longer preservation
GEDIL® in-vitro test results are located below for your review.
In vitro testing
2,904 semen samples were evaluated for % live cell and motility (0 to 5 scale) by a commercial boar stud in the Midwest.
January to December 2003. The results are as follows :
